299 days until......
I am to set out for the 3 day challenge to walk approx 20 miles a day. So far I have not been able to obtain any donations. To participate I have to solicit 2,300 dollars worth of donations.
I will work on that part of this challenge starting in January.
The other part I have to work on is getting into shape so that I can do this. It has been a very difficult year and although there have been a lot of good things happening in my life at home it is a very different story at work and within the family as a whole.
I deal with stress and anxiety by eating and that has not done me any favors this year.
In the last 2 years I have gained 30 pounds and I am ashamed and embarrassed by that. But I still keep eating crap and not doing what I need to do to counter act that.
Last week I wore my pedometer to get an idea of what I walk on days that I am not "trying" to do anything specific and my average was 1.61 miles a day; not nearly enough.
This week I tried a little harder and was up to an average of 2.95 miles a day. This needs to keep improving. I have 42 weeks left until I need to be able to walk 20 miles a day for 3 day straight.
Preparing for this challenge should help me get back on track and I hope to learn some things about myself as I work to earn the donations and get my body and mind ready for this challenge.
