Non Movie Night

Well tonight was supposed to be the night that we were going to go to the movie ..but we are not going.

I had a feeling Thursday and Friday that it would not happen. Of course me being me it was because I was not good enough and something else better came along.

I got a message yesterday afternoon from the movie guy and he asked if we could postpone for a couple of weeks. He said he had a bunch of stuff going on and alot of it had to do with one of his kids.

What can you say...of course I understand things come up. Do I believe it? Sure I have no reason not to and he said he wanted to do it in two weeks.

I am worried about me...I seem to expect the worst and am worried that I will always think that way. But I guess time will tell. I am going to counseling etc...so what else can I do but continue to work on it.

More on this later.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Kylee, it’s no fun expecting some fun and then having it postponed by someone else’s agenda. Please don’t expect that or you may end up like my Mom, whose pay (her nickname is Pat, so that’s a pun I had to explain) is: “Wish in one hand, shit in the other, and see which gets filled the fastest.”

Please don’t be like her. You deserve much better!

Blessings and hugs!

here's a tip (which you didn't ask for and i'm sure you don't need, but just in case):
even if sometimes you're feeling like "i bet you won't like me because i'm not good enough" (we all feel like damaged goods at times), don't ever let it show. if you act like the prize, people will believe you. if you act like you think they're going to want to kick you, they will.
just my two cents -- took me almost 40 yrs to figure that out...

'fraid i'm like you sometimes (expect the worst) but something happened recently that was (mildly) noteworthy...

we have a badge-reader security system for the inner offices of our building. i usually can't find my badge in my mess of a purse so the front counter people have to buzz me in. one morning i actually had my badge in hand. i showed my badge to the clerk as she was going to hit the buzzer. she was suitably impressed (she stated she also had remembered her badge that morning) and i said jokingly, "oh yay, it's going to be a good day!" and it was -- a good day, i mean.

i've heard saying affirmations out loud can make a difference. have to admit, don't usually follow this myself but people insist it works. maybe i'll have to keep it up -- i'll let you know how it goes.
